Biography
The peak of rock music as a whole came about when Queen was formed in 1967. Queen revolutionized radio music and sports stadiums with outstanding scores such as We Will Rock You and We are the Champions. But possibly the greatest thing to come out of the band is their lead singer and legend, Freddie Mercury. Mercury's captivating voice and energy brought immense popularity to himself and the band both. The band's music was a combination of heavy metal, glam rock, and intricate vocal harmonies produced by Mercury himself. Queen had many many albums during their reign including eight gold and six platinum records. Sadly, on November 24, 1991, Freddie Mercury died of aids at the age of 45. Queen was not disbanded however, and the surviving members would go on and tribute their previous members.
